MOAA – SVC gives SJSU ROTC Scholarships during Det 045 Dining Out – 13 MAY 2024

San Jose State University and Air Force ROTC celebrated its 76th Dining Out celebration on the evening of 13 May 2024.  This event celebrated the 76th year of AFROTC operating at SJSU, highlighted cadet achievements and brought community leaders together to recognize these fine young men and women’s dedication to service before self. The event was presided over by AFROTC Detachment 045 Commander and Silicon Valley MOAA board member, Lt Col Joshua Sullivan and SJSU President, Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, and welcomed the California ANG Commander, Major General Steven “Bucky” Butow as guest speaker. MOAA-SVC, as the largest community contributor to the cadets, awarded a total of $4,000 in scholarships to four outstanding cadets. MOAA-SVC President, Col (R) Ray Watts presented the scholarships on MOAA – SVC behalf. The event was also attended by MOAA Board members Col (R) Ray Powell and Mr. Rick Deustch.
