Discover our Mission

As “One Powerful Voice,” the chapter actively enhances the lives of military officers through advocacy and community engagement. We have pride in what we did and are “giving back” to the new generation of veterans. Younger veterans may be faced with multiple deployments and may suffer through service-connected disabilities, PTSD, homelessness and sadly the highest suicide rate of any US group. The recent PACT is doing a lot to right wrongs caused by toxic water, burn pits and Agent Orange. We feel appreciate when we hear: “Thank you for your service!”

Mission Statement

The primary mission of SVC MOAA is to support veterans and active-duty military members and their families. The organization will embrace diversity while leveraging varying skills to meet the needs of all veterans of Santa Clara County. The chapter is fully committed to transparency and operational excellence while adhering to the Warrior Ethos. The organization will make the necessary investments in personnel, systems, and processes for continued growth, organizational distinction, and community involvement. This will be achieved through administrative excellence, innovation, communication, and execution while building team cohesion.

Chapter Advocacy

The chapter strongly advocates for national defense while remaining neutral on issues related to military strategy or the specifics of individual weapons systems utilized by various services. The chapter’s advocacy efforts focus on matters that impact military personnel, with the board of directors taking an active role in addressing issues and proposing legislation that affects the career force, the retired community, and veterans of the uniformed services.

In summary, the chapter is dedicated to advocating for issues that align with its mission, adhering strictly to the guidelines outlined in its constitution and bylaws. This includes refraining from supporting or opposing the election of any candidates or political parties, ensuring that the chapter maintains its integrity and focus on its core advocacy objectives.
