MOAA’s greatest mission is to improve the lives of those who serve and their families, which is achieved largely through the tireless advocacy efforts taking place in our nation’s capital. MOAA’s experts in Washington are there to support legislation that benefits the military community and are equally vigilant when fighting to stop legislation that threatens our livelihood. The larger our numbers, the greater our voice.

Community
MOAA is the nation’s largest and most influential association of military officers, and SVCMOAA is your local association of officers looking to make a difference in national, state, and local arenas. We are a powerful force speaking for a strong national defense and representing the interests of military officers at every stage of their careers to include after retirement. As one of our chapter pillars, Community is realized and supported with advocacy for veteran rights at every level of government. Contribution
Every year, SVCMOAA gives back to the surrounding community in numerous ways. In addition to mentorship and numerous guest speaking engagements, SVCMOAA members raise monies to support $4000 in scholarships given to Silicon Valley ROTC programs in the area. Each year, these scholarships are handed out to high performing cadets at a luncheon in their honor, passing the torch of defense from one generation to the next. Camaraderie
Finally, SVCMOAA provides a place that feels like home to those who have served in their nation’s defense. Many of us began to serve for many different reasons, but all of us continue to serve because of those we become forever bonded by service to a purpose larger than oneself. SVCMOAA provides monthly luncheons and numerous other events for all members to find this connection that may be elusive in civilian life after military retirement.
