National Vietnam War Veterans Day

National Vietnam War Veterans Day

The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act, signed into law in 2017, designates March 29 of each year as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. On that day in 1973, the last combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam and the last prisoners of war held in North Vietnam arrived on American soil. California celebrates “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” on March 30. San Jose will honor the 142 “Sons of San Jose” who were killed in action during the Vietnam War. A reading of the names of the 142 will be held at the Sons of San José Monument at Confluence Point Park located at West Santa Clara St. & Delmas Avenue. This is next to the SAP arena. Join your fellow Silicon Valley MOAA members at this important event. Time: March 30 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
